Co-founder, PushStart

Give a brief overview of your background / experience

Hi, I'm Kim, one of the co-founders of PushStart.

I have worked in the Australian tech startup community for over 10 years, first as an entrepreneur and more recently as the former editor of The Next Web, Australia. I am also the founder of Open Coffee Sydney – Sydney’s longest running tech startup meetup with over 1200 members.

I am the Community Manager, Australia & New Zealand, for MyHeritage.com, the world’s largest family-based social network with over 60 Million members and 800 Million profiles in family trees.

I also work as the Commercial Manager at Ensyst, a Sydney-based IT services and solutions provider. As employee #4 I helped grow the business to 3 BRW Fast 100 Awards and a recent Microsoft Worldwide Partner of the Year Award win.

Why have you decided to become a PushStart mentor?

Because I believe that sharing of knowledge and experience is at the heart of all learning and am a passionate supporter of the Australian tech startup community.

What are the top 3 things you bring to the table as a mentor

• Passion - for helping Australian startups succeed
• Commitment - to startup entrepreneurs - I'm here for you.
• Persistance - I promise to bother as many people, for as long as it takes, to help Australian startups succeed.
